I have a receding hairline. Is there any treatment other than a hair transplant?

If not, are they expensive? And how reliable are they/good do they look?

My friend had the same problem. He got a prescription from his doctor for Rogaine. It worked really well.

It was kind of expensive because it wasn't covered by insurance (cosmetic).

have you thought about rogaine? it is something you have to commit to because once you stop using it all the hair that did grow will fall out again but, it might be worth it. also, look into hairclub for men...

You don't say how old you are. But it's just a matter of life that you will start losing your hair just after puberty. There is nothing much to do about it now.. it's already started.

It's not all bad news! You can find some hairstyles that will camouflage it a bit... but not for long! Don't ever do the comb-over!! Eventually, you will find that it's just the way you are... don't be in denial.

As it recedes further back, you will find a short hair style is best. In fact, if you have a good shape head, really short will look great. Some women find bald very sexy!

Get comfortable with who you are, not how you think you should look. You are the way you are... go with it, don't change it.

There is a shampoo and conditioner called Nioxin that may help with regrowth

rogaine is the only treatment besides hair transplant and while using it I suggest taking a multi-vitamins that contains folic acid and biotin and eat plenty of fish, meat, vegetavles and fish. avoid smoking and drinking alcohol.
