You see pictures all the time of the results, but those are clearly the best ones. Generally speaking...how natural does a hair transplant look? Is it recommended to simply do this for newly balding (ie just filling in the gaps)?

good question.... unfortunately every one is different.... but just like rogain, it works for some and not for others. but once one starts using rogain they can't stop or eventually the hair falls out again.
if you want to give it a shot... see what kind of guarantee (warranty) it comes with... if the transplant doesn't work it looks like a few dark spots kind of like moles(which are positioned like birds that fly in a v shape)sorry i wish i had more positive news
